I grabbed a friend of mine and went to a sunflower farm this past summer. She’s an actress and wanted some new headshots. I’m a photographer and wanted to shoot at the Anderson Sunflower Farm. It was a win-win for the both of us. Not very long after we started, I began to notice something: HOME GIRL HAD SKILLS! She knew how to move, what to do with her body, and even how to portray a character she made up in her head. It dawned on me, she was using her acting skills to execute this photo shoot. She knew how to be vulnerable, mischievous, daring, and flirtatious at the drop of a dime. I had very little to direct. IT WAS A BREATH OF FRESH AIR!! I couldn’t get enough! She didn’t mind being amongst bees (i was terrified). Her work ethic was amazing. At this very moment, I knew I would love to shoot Actors (at least the good ones lol). So if the TV Screen or Big Screen or Theatre is your goal, make a photographer’s day by scheduling a portrait and/or headshot session. You both will walk away from the session invigorated and inspired by one another. Also, if you are a model, I suggest taking an acting class or volunteering at a local theatre. It will pay off in the end. (And while you’re at it, take a dance class too!) And if you would like to schedule a session with me, please don’t hesitate to contact me here.
Oh yea, my friend’s name is Brittany L. Smith. She’s an extremely talented Actress! She’ll be performing at the Synchronicity Theatre September 23 – October 16, 2016 in the production Anne Boleyn. Go check it out!
